Los Alamos Young Eagles Flight Rally
Sept 5, 2011

On September 5, 2011, it was time again for the Young Eagles to take to the skies.  We had static displays,
a good turnout of pilots, a great turn out of kids, and wonderful weather.  It just doesn't get any better than
that, and the numbers showed it.  We flew over 90 Young Eagles, plus treated the CAP Cadets to rides in
return for their services helping with the kids and parents.

The Civil Air patrol had their Cessna 182 on display.

Young Eagles Coordinator James Shinas didn't have the test time flown off his new Sonex, so put it out as
a static display.

Jeff Scott Also put his KR out as a static display while flying Young Eagles in the Cub.

The Cub also turned into a static display when the radio mysteriously quit working during a ride.  It had just
completed it's 25 hour test period and inspection.

David Roe stayed busy flying Young Eagles in his RV-8.

Dane Spearing takes off with all the seats full in his Cherokee 6.

Roger Smith spent the day marshalling planes and lining up kids and pilots for pictures.

Dane Knowlton takes another load of Young Eagles up in his Cirrus.

Curtis Smith came up from Albuquerque to help fly Young Eagles in his beautiful new Sport Cruiser.

Will Fox stayed busy flying loads of kids in his Bonanza.

Skip Egdorf was also flying his 250 Comanche.

Roger Smith spent the day marshalling planes.  It was a very busy ramp with a lot of planes and a lot of
people.  Roger stepped in and did a fabulous job of keeping the propellers and the Young Eagles separated.
