Blaine Asay's RV-7A N877TA

Blaine recently purchased this project from Danny Quist. As a first step the learn the building skills, Van's
offers a kit to build a tool box. Looks like a mighty nice tool box to me.

Trap door inside fuel tank.

Left and right fuel tank leak checking with a home made manometer. Both tanks are now sealed.

Jan 20, 2011 - Blaine and Patrice have been making good progress on the right wing and have now made the
decision to build this plane as an RV-7 taildragger. The fuselage kit is now on order. This is the outboard
leading edge of the right wing.

Leading edge on the right wing.

Right wing skins attached with clecos.

Feb 8, 2011 update - We finished riveting both leading edges (cut holes for the landing
lights), both ailerons
and both flaps. Now we're ready to attach flaps
and ailerons on right wing, then rivet the top skins on the left
wing,
attach flaps and ailerons, and then we'll be ready for the QB fuselage
to arrive in March. Doesn't feel like
I'm doing much, but put all the
pictures together and there's been some progress. - Blaine

March Update - Finished up the wings and the fuse arrived last week. Only ten million more steps to go.

Left aileron installed and aligned.

July 21, 2011 Update - Rudder pedals and brakes finished and ready for installation.

Seat backs are riveted.

Horizontal stab aligned and bolted. It's perfectly straight!

Aug 6, 2011 - V Stab, H Stab and Rudder all aligned.
